McDonald’s Australia has heralded a new era of sustainability by opening its 1000th restaurant in Melton South and at the same time the company’s very first sustainability flagship restaurant for Australia.

Jfk Interiors Australia was delighted to be engaged by builder Becon Constructions to deliver the of premium corporate identity joinery for the project.

Becon Constructions and the project team went beyond the delivery of a building that is energy efficient. The careful choice of materials to include recycled content reflects a move to the circular economy where solutions for reuse are found. From wheel stops made from recycled coffee cups, through clever design to reduce waste and improve recycling outcomes, to education displays to bring consumers along the journey.

The project is a step along the journey to reduce the environmental footprint of not just the building, but also its use.  And Becon Construction was recently awarded the ‘Best Sustainable Project Award’ at the 2021 Master Builder Victoria Awards for the project.

The team from Jfk Interiors Australia once again delivered results without peer for a flagship brand project in a sector where Jfk Interiors Australia maintains a long history as market leaders. 

Requiring extensive commercial experience and capabilities to delivery on an array of bespoke joinery work involving diverse and interesting materials, the project included a range of custom benches with powder coated framing, multi-dimensional concrete and timber look wall cladding, restroom mirrors, custom straight and curved bench seating, office and service cabinets, McCafe counters and services areas, perforated and acoustic ceiling panels and staff amenities.  In addition, the project also required a range of furniture items including a variety seating and tables.
